Out with the old, in with the new...

So there has been a change in the All We Have camp since we last posted. Unfortunately our close friend and bass player Cal has left the band. We all support his decision and wish him luck with anything he persues in the future. I'm sure you'll see him around in bands again soon, and no doubt they will be fast and loud.
We had a year of awesome times with Cal and he will surely be missed by us all.

With the departure of Cal we welcome the arrival of Parky (Michael Parkinson to his mother) onto bass duties. He's a good friend of ours, an awesome guy and a great bass player so we're stoked to have him on bored. His first show with us will eb the Ruiner show at Satans Hollow in December, so if you could all come and show him your support that would be awesome.

Other exciting news is that we have started writing and demo recording material for our new CD. We really stoked on how it's sounding so far. There a few differences from what could be heard on "Rain City" but it still has that AWH vibe. It's sounding more mature and a little bit darker. Watch this space for updates and demo uploads :) A new track may also make it into our live set for the Dead Swans/The Carrier show in January, so get down to hear it first!
We'll be back soon with more news and some exciting announcements.

Update 17.09.09

Apologies for the lack of updates . . .

We’re in the new issue of ‘A Short Fanzine About Rocking’ we have a short interview and a review of Rain City. You can pick it up for a £1, we’ll have copies at shows, they sell it in various record stores around the UK, make sure that you pick up a copy. Rain City will be available on 7” soon, the lovely people at Breakout Records will be pressing it, they’ll be limited to 500, once they’re printed they’ll be available to purchase online and at shows, we don’t have a release date as of yet, but I imagine there will be some sort of record release party planned to coincide with the release, we’ll be posting updates regarding this online. We have some merch left over from tour in our webstore, shirts are £5 and you can pick up a copy of our EP for a mere £3. We have 2 upcoming shows, the first one being in Milton Keynes with The Legacy (their 2nd to last show) and the other being a Sunday afternoon Matinee show with Glasses/November13th and Hammers. Full details/flyers are on our page. We have been locked away in our rat-infested practice room writing new material for a future release. We’re hoping to get back in the studio with Johnny Renshaw in the New Year to lay-down the tracks for a future release. We’ve been talking amongst ourselves regarding the new release, we’re not 100% sure on what to do, if you’re reading this and you would be interested in working with us, please get in touch.

24.07.09

Thanks to all the people who came down early to the have heart show on Wednesday, we had a splendid time at the show, sold a lot of CDs and lots of Merch, so thanks to all the people who handed us there hard earned cash, we really appreciate it.

We’ll have a new design sorted for our upcoming tour in August.

22nd Aug - Aberdeen, Scotland (full line-up TBC)
23rd Aug - Stoke (Wait In Vain / Outrage)
24th Aug - Huddersfield (Wait In Vain / Outrage / Trash Talk)
25th Aug - Dublin, Ireland (Wait In Vain / Outrage)
26th Aug – Birmingham (Wait In Vain / Outrage)

Full line-ups and venues on our page
myspace.com/allwehaveuk

We wanted to play the Wait In Vain / Outrage show at The Underworld, London on 27th Aug we’ve had a lot of emails/myspace messages from people asking us if we’re playing this show, we are not playing because the promoter refuses to put us on the show even after receiving messages from the touring bands and their tour manager, he can’t find 15/20mins for us on this line-up, so it’s out of our hands unfortunately, apologies to all the people who were looking forward to seeing us play. We have the van rented out for that date, so chances are that we’ll be at the show to support the other bands. We have no idea who is supporting on this show as we’ve not seen it promoted.

Thanks to the crucial kids at Honor Over Glory for clothing us…

They have some cool shit in stock, so get online and make a purchase

So, we’re 2 shows down, many more to go. We’re playing in Chester tonight at The Hangman, should be a fun show, we’re all stoked on it. We received incredible news earlier this week that we’ll be opening up at the Polar Bear Club, Ruiner, Defeater show @ Moho Live in Manchester on 03.06.09, so make sure that you come down early and check us out. Doors are at 7pm. The River Card, Dear Brutas and some other rad bands will be opening up the show, I’m pretty sure that the Pop Bubble Rock club night will be on after the show, so you can hang around and dance to pop-punk and cheesy pop all night. The drinks are really cheap and it’s an awesome night out, this will be a night to remember, don’t miss out on it.

Big up Grandad Vernon

My grandad Maurice is a legend!
He's gotta be the oldest Hardcore fan on the planet. He asks me everyday about how the band is going and listened to "Bones" constantly. He's always asking when we're going to play his village so he cancome and see us.
Now you might think all grandads are like that and he's just taking a common interest in his grandsons activities... oh no!

This is a 73 year old who genuinley loves hardcore.
When touring with Last Chance To Dance, he came along to help out with driving. We played in Lowestoft with a bunch of hardcore bands and Maurice was beating down to Special Move! In his own special grandad beatdown way, but he was beating down none the less.

Can't wait for him to be down the front of an All We Have show showing these crazy young scenesters of today how they two stepped back in the 1950's.

Give this guy big ups and Kudos!

AWH Terror Alert

Well... not quite but nearly!Read on and i'll explain.I'm working in London this week, and seems as today was a nice day i decided to leave work a bit early and wander around our countrys capital sight seeing a sticker bombing.Combining the two nearly got me into a hell of a lot of trouble!Whilst at the residance of our great queen a cheekily decided to throw an "All We Have - Rain City Hardcore" sticker on her front gates...I had a look around, no cops, security, furry headed guards in sight. This is going to be easy i thought. I peeled the back of the sticker and started to raise my arm to the gate. My hand had got no closer to than 20cm to the gate before an officer of the law grabbed my arm and dragged me away.He then spent around 10 mins lecturing my on how i was about to deface and vandalise property of her majesty the queen and that i could be in very serious trouble. Using my northern charm i managed to get away without being arrested but not before the cuntstable confiscated "the rest" of my stickers.I say "the rest" as he just took the 3 or 4 in my hand and didn' even check my bag for the other 50 or 60! His loss was the City of Londons gain and i preceded to hammer the city. From tube stations, to shops and historical landmarks, nowhere was left unturned!Look out for the stickers and appreciate my task.I nearly got trialed for treason and terror crimes for the cause! On another note, the EP is very nearly finished! STOKED!We should have the mastered tracks back from Sir Renshaw by the end of this week and hopefully a few new tracks online to wet your whistle! We'll be on the road all over the country very soon. can't wait to see you all at shows.

Phil AWH xo

fingers crossed

we'll be getting our mastered tracks back this weekend. Apologies again for the wait, I listened to the unmixed tracks and I think they sound awesome (a totally biased opinion, but so true) so I can't wait to hear the finished songs. Our debut EP 'Rain City' should be availalbe from May, we'll have a ltd run of CDs and it'll also be available over iTunes/Amazon etc etc We'll also have some sweet merch designs to accompany the record.

we'll be sure to whack the tracks online as soon as we get them, We'll be streaming the whole EP on Last.fm

we've got some killer shows on our page with the likes of The Effort, Have Heart, Shipwreck, Miles Away and we've got a UK summer tour planned with Wait In Vain/Outrage in August.

Studio Day 1

After an awakening shower and hearty meat filled barm, Me and Alex headed off to Tetbury for the first day of tracking for our debut EP "Rain City".
Armed with a bottle of Lilt, a hardcore playist and a bag of ASDA's own "Rosey Apples" we made two and a half hour journey down to the Gloucestershire countryside:

We got to Tetbury around 10:30 and had made enough time to call of at Tesco for the days supplies; Grapes, Donuts and Frubes are the order of the day. On to the studio we went! We arrive, say hello, make our introductions and duck as Jonnys dog Robbie grabs about 15ft of air off a ledge with a primary landing target of Heffs face. We load in, set up and it's time to go.

We spend the first hour or so trying to get a good sound from Alex's floor tom, we give up and resort to using a floor tom that has been sat covered in dust in the corner of the studio for months as it ounded better than the one we had brought with us... not the best start to the day. All problems set aside we got to work, under the watchful eye of Captain Underpants, creating the click tracks that would be the mortar that holds our creative bricks together. Click tracks done, it's time to track!Heffs first attempt at playing to a click went... well, it could have been better. But he soon got the hang of it and we flew through "Bones". One track down, four to go. Unfortunatley we don't have any pictures of Alex tracking, but we do have plenty of me laying down a guide guitar track so you'll have to make do with that for now:

Alex flys through his beats for "Rain City" and Walk Away" before taking some time out to eat an apple. After a rough start to the day things had really picked up and we we're well ahead of schedule.

Last job of the day would be to track "Words That Fall Unbroken", a few difficulties with the final section are soon overcome and our days work is done!
With a stop off at Tescos (again) for some much needed sustainance, we head back to Jonnys gaff in Bristol for evening of Bottom, futurama and Family Guy. It's cool to catch up with my long time friend Tom (Jonnys brother) and have a beer or two and a catch up on old times.

Off to bed we go, "Dreamer" tomorrow for Alex, then it's time to track some guitar.
We'll be back soon, keep checking in.

schmiggles!

We’re heading to the rehearsal rooms tonight to add the finishing touches for our debut EP, “Rain City”

I imagine that we’ll get there late(ish) go to the chippy, get some canned sugary goodness from Jonny Dick-fingers (he’s the dude who works in the shop next to the chippy, the dude has the longest fingers I’ve ever seen!) get some cash, get back, eat, play some songs, chat shite, quote lines from movies, play some songs, Cal will break some equipment, we’ll fix Cal’s mess, play some more songs, complain that we’re tied (well, I will cos I’m lazy) then we’ll have to load the equipment into our new rent-a-van because Phil and I will be hitting the Studio tomorrow with Mr Jonny Renshaw (Devil Sold His Soul) I’m extremely excited! We’ll be tracking the guitars and the drums first. We’re setting off at stupid’ o’clock Friday morning and we’ll be there until Monday evening.

Thanks to all the people who have been supporting the band even though we’re only just starting out, we’re sorry to keep you all waiting with the EP but It’ll be totally worth it once it drops. Trrruuusst!

We’ve finally been added to a show! we’ll playing at Satan’s Hollow in Manchester (where Phil drunkenly moshes to Slipknot then falls on his arse, only to keep moshing when people are trying to help him up) It’ll be on Thursday May 21st, I’ve heard that More Than Life and Hammers will be playing. This show will RULE! I’ve also heard that it’s in the new room (I’m not sure where it’s located), not on the dance floor, so that will certainly be interesting. As this will probably be our first show, we’ll have some surprises in store for y’all.

We’ll be armed with a laptop during our trip down to Tetbury so we’ll be posting some photos and keeping this blog updated. I decided to make us a blogger account so that we can keep you all updated and also so that Ric can get some sweet sweet emo-poon.

Also, Nate and I DJ in Jilly’s Rockworld, Oxford Road, Manchester every Saturday night from 10pm-3am, you’ll be able to find us in the ‘Fishbowl’ room playing the finest Pop-Punk, Skate Punk, Ska, Hardcore, Emo, some Pop, some Hip-Hop, basically just great music to dance to. As I’ll be away this Sat, Nate will be going solo, so make sure that you go along and invade his dance floor. Saturday 28th February, we’ll be DJ’ing after the Rollo Tomassi / Fucked Up / Bronx show, so head along to Jilly’s after the show. Shameless self-promotion

Okay, so it's less than a week until we head into the studio to start tracking our debut EP "Rain City". Keep checking out this blog because from Friday (20th Feb) onwards, we will be updating it daily with studio updates, photos and more.

Speak to you soon.
